Improve your mediation through concentration

During our lives we meet a huge number of people, but very rarely we spend time communicating with ourselves. We often look for happiness, joy and benefit in the outside world, forgetting about the most important thing – the soul. A person can know the world and get whatever he or she wants, but at the same time he or she will have an emptiness inside. Mediation is a way to full fill this emptiness but how to improve your meditation.

The most important thing happens when we go on a journey through our inner world, rediscovering our interests, feelings, and priorities. It’s not an easy job to understand yourself. What is necessary for that? Readiness and concentration. These are the first two qualities that are important in meditation. When you have readiness and concentration – there will be trust, when you have trust – there will be love.

Let’s discuss the 3 Meditation techniques that how to improve your meditation

Quality No. 1: Readiness

Imagine that we are building a house. When we’re just starting construction, there’s no convenience or lighting, is there? Gradually we install every cable, every light bulb, air conditioning, TV, fire system, etc. When everything is in its place, we go to the main electrical control and say, “Look, I’ve built a house, and I need to bring electricity to it.”

Somebody is going to ask if we’ve installed everything we need. If we say yes, they’ll send someone to check if it’s done right. Only then will the house be connected to the main generator, which is high-voltage, and then the lighting, fire safety system, air conditioning, etc. will start working in our house.

But imagine if we built a house that is not designed for high voltage and the power plant has a very high power. Imagine if this house is not ready. What will happen? We’ll probably put the house at risk. It’s the same in meditation: we need a certain readiness.

To determine your readiness, ask yourself the following questions:

Am I ready to practice every day for 10-15 minutes, in the morning and evening?

Am I ready for the internal and external changes that will happen to me?

Do I want to know myself and learn how to really learn to love?

Am I ready to meet my strengths and weaknesses and then transform the weaknesses?

Am I ready to be responsible for your life?

Do I want my life to be interesting, active, rich and full?

If you have answered all the questions in the affirmative way, then you are really ready to meditate and before starting it you really need to know how to improve your mediation.

Quality #2: Concentration

When we start, we want quick results. That’s what happens to everyone. After a month, we stop meditating, considering ourselves enlightened or deciding that it makes no sense. There are a lot of great yogis there who have been meditating for years.

And many of us can’t find time to meditate every day for at least a month. You don’t have to give up your intention. Keep meditating, even if you can’t see the results and keep following the techniques that how to improve your meditation. Changes are happening, you just haven’t noticed them yet.

There’s a story about concentration:

Once upon a time there was a king. He wanted to build big temples for Shiva. And there was one poor man who was also mentally building a temple for Shiva, but his construction was even bigger. When the temple was built, the king sent an invitation to Shiva, that said: “Oh, Shiva, I’ve built a temple for You and I ask You to come to its opening. Shiva sent the answer: “Oh, king, I would be very happy to come to the opening of the temple, but on the day planned I have to go to another person. He has built a temple larger than yours, and I have to go to him because the opening is at the same time.

The king was surprised. He did not know that somebody else was building a large temple in his kingdom, so he began to make inquiries. He found out that the builder of the huge temple where Shiva was to come was a poor man. The king came to him and said: “You’ve built the largest temple of Shiva in my kingdom.

But I thought that I was building the greatest one”. The man was very surprised and answered: “What are you talking about? I’m a poor man, and I can’t build anything for Shiva.” The king insisted: “Shiva told me that you’ve built the biggest temple”. And then the man understood that when he was watching the builders erecting the real building, he was mentally building the temple three times larger. His concentration was so strong that when he mentally opened the doors of his building, Shiva was really present. The power of concentration is a very powerful thing.

It’s an exercise for concentration

Write the mantra of Om Namo Narayanaya 108 times. If you translate this phrase, you’ll get “I worship the one who made the hearts of all people his abode. It is believed that if you repeat the mantra 108 times, you will achieve peace and tranquility.

In this exercise, we can literally “create” our mood through the mantra. Imagine that it is a flashlight in hand and our life is a dark forest. Where we direct the flashlight depends on whether we find the right path. Meditation teaches us to work with consciousness and to achieve that you need to learn how to improve your meditation.

Quality #3: Put love into meditation practice

“Sab Se Oonchi, Prem Sagai” – this line in Sanskrit says that the greatest prayer is Love. Love is the destination of men, just as fire is the destination of burning and water is the destination of cooling.

Meditation that develops love in us:

This meditation will help you focus on your inner center. We will practice the “OM” mantra with you. The thing is, it’s a very powerful mantra. By repeating it, a person achieves peace of mind. A calm mind releases all anxiety and pain. Besides, it’s very useful. It is not only a question of spiritual growth but also of achieving material well-being.

1. Sit down comfortably. Repeat OM during inhalation, and OM during exhalation. Your task is to bind your attention to your breath.

2. Connect attention, a mantra and a breath together. Feel vibration of a mantra of OM, singing it to yourself. And do not make any sounds.

3. Let the mind concentrate in the area between the eyebrows. Visualize lotus flower in a place of concentration of the attention, continue to breathe: OM during inhalation, and OM during exhalation.

4. Breathe through relaxation. Relax more with each breath, listen to your feelings.

5. Slowly open your eyes, continuing to remain calm. If you meditate for 15 minutes, it will give you a very strong result: you will calm down and feel love in your heart. After that the state of peace will come to you. Amazingly, it only takes 15 minutes.

Our mind is something that complements us, but does not define us. We can observe the flow of our thoughts and influence them. When we meditate, we become observers. We notice things that we have not noticed before, we fill the soul with love and the mind with light. If during your meditation you did not manage to achieve a state of peace from the first, second, third time – still continue to practice and this is right way how to improve your meditation.
